Animal Spirit Communication: When Pets Come Through

In my sessions, beloved animals sometimes come through with clear, loving messages. Here’s what animal spirit communication can feel like and why it matters.

Intro

Sometimes, during a reading, our beloved animals come through too.

And because I’m also an animal communicator, I’ve learned something beautiful: they are often so eager to be heard.

They don’t always wait for the “right” type of session. If they have something to share, they arrive with a kind of love and excitement that is undeniable.

In this post, I want to share what these moments can feel like, why they happen, and how you can recognise the gentle ways your animals still communicate.

What Is Animal Spirit Communication (In My Experience)

To me, animal spirit communication is a heart-to-heart connection.

It’s not something forced. It’s something received.

Sometimes it comes through as:

  • A feeling that lands strongly in my body (warmth, tenderness, calm)

  • A memory or image (a specific place, a toy, a routine)

  • A clear “knowing” (a message that arrives fully formed)

  • A personality signature (the same humour, stubbornness, softness, or bravery they had in life)

And very often, what comes through first is simple:

“I’m still here. I’m still with you. I love you.”

Why Animals Sometimes “Interrupt” a Reading

People often assume animal communication needs its own separate session.

And it absolutely can — especially if you’re seeking clarity around behaviour, health changes, transitions, or deeper healing.

But what I’ve noticed is this:

When the energetic space is open during a reading, animals sometimes step forward because:

  • They sense their person is ready to receive

  • They want to comfort you in a tender moment

  • They have a message that feels time-sensitive

  • They are excited to be acknowledged (yes, even in spirit)

It doesn’t feel like an interruption.

It feels like love finding a doorway.

The Kind of Messages They Share

This is the part that still amazes me.

Their presence is pure, honest, and filled with a love that never really leaves.

What amazes me most… is how much they know.

They gently reveal little secrets, memories, and moments — things only their guardians would recognise, and sometimes things never even spoken out loud.

Some of the most common themes I receive are:

  • Gratitude: “Thank you for choosing me.”

  • Reassurance: “You did enough. You loved me well.”

  • A memory marker: a tiny, specific moment to confirm it’s really them

  • A request: “Please keep my blanket / photo / collar close.”

  • A nudge to heal: “It’s time to forgive yourself.”

And when a message is truly from your animal, it lands differently.

It doesn’t feel like a thought you made up.

It feels like a soft truth that settles into your chest.

How You Can Recognise Their Signs (Without Overthinking)

If you’ve been wondering whether your pet is still around you, here are a few gentle ways they may show up.

1) Familiar “sense of presence”

A sudden feeling that they’re right there — especially in the spaces they loved.

2) Dream visits

Dreams can become a meeting place: vivid, emotional, and deeply calming.

3) Little synchronistic moments

A song, a smell, a sound, or a random memory that arrives exactly when you needed comfort.

4) Your heart softening

Sometimes the biggest sign is not external.

It’s the moment you feel relief, warmth, or peace for no logical reason.

A note I want to add here: you don’t need to “prove” love.

If you felt it, it matters.

A Gentle Grounding Practice (Before You Ask for a Message)

If you’d like to connect more intentionally, try this simple 2-minute practice:

  1. Place one hand on your heart.

  2. Breathe slowly and say (out loud or quietly):

    • “I’m open to receiving love.”

    • “Only what is for my highest good may come through.”

  3. Bring your animal to mind and remember one clear moment you shared.

  4. Ask one question:

    • “What do you want me to know today?”

  5. Notice what comes first — a feeling, a word, an image.

Keep it gentle.

Connection grows through safety and softness.

Closing

I’ve had the deepest, most touching connections with these beautiful animal spirits.

And every time they come through, I’m reminded that love doesn’t end.

It changes form — but it doesn’t disappear.

If you’ve ever felt your pet near you, I want you to know: you’re not imagining it.

You’re remembering love.
